UK Animal Rights Boycott List
Each year, millions of kangaroos are killed in what is widely regarded as the largest wildlife massacre on the planet. Shockingly, the number one supporters of this barbaric trade are sports shoe manufacturers, who purchase the skins and turn them into football boots. Adidas, one of the industry’s biggest customers, is a major driving force behind the industry. There are modern, hi-tec synthetic fabrics available which Adidas could switch to right now. Airlines who fly Primates to Labs in Europe
Only a few airlines are responsible for the vast majority of the actual transporting through the air. The main four are Air France, El Al. Aeroflot & Japan Airlines. Air France dominate the market in flying primates to labs in Europe. Boycott Canada
Most people think that the slaughter of baby seals in Canada is over. It is not. In fact it is worse than ever. In the last four years the Canadian government has allowed over one and a quarter million baby seals to be brutally slaughtered by clubbing and shooting, with the majority of seals killed aged three months or younger. Boycott Canadian Fish and Seafood Products
By boycotting Canadian fish and seafood products you send an important message back to those directly involved in the slaughter of the seals. The main part of their income is from the sale (and export) of fish and seafood products and the UK is an important customer for these products. Whereas income from the seal hunt is insignificant to Canada, the UK imports over £50 million of seafood from Canada each year. Boycott China for Animal Cruelty
There are no laws against animal cruelty in China! The only prohibition is against killing endangered species. Torture is not even an issue. The articles on the website will give you an idea of the kind of disregard the Chinese authorities have for animal welfare. Boycott Japan
Compassionate global citizens can help save the whales by boycotting Japanese goods and refusing to travel to Japan until such time as the Japanese Government bows to world opinion and STOPS KILLING WHALES. Whales are dying hideous deaths, drowning in their own blood in appalling agony, sometimes taking hours to die. British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation pours millions of pounds into animal experiments. Out of a total income of £90.5 million in 2004, the charity spent £53.3 million on research, with only £22 million going into education and care programmes. The charity’s massive income is generated in part by 470 charity shops across the country. By buying from these shops or dropping change into a donation box, many caring people unknowingly fund animal suffering. Burberry Clothing
Burberry may be best known for its distinctive plaid, but its use of real fur is making the design house synonymous with cruelty to animals. Burberry continues to use fur in its designs despite the fact that many leading clothing retailers have pulled fur from their stores forever. Harrods
Harrods is now the only department store in the UK which continues to sell real fur, even though the production of fur is illegal in the UK. Herbal Essences
Despite widespread revulsion at animal testing of shampoos, Herbal Essences have massacred more than a thousand pregnant animals and their offspring to test a common chemical ingredient already known to be safe to humans... IAMS Pet Food
For nearly 10 months in 2002 and early 2003, a PETA investigator went undercover at an Iams contract testing laboratory and discovered dogs gone crazy from intense confinement to barren steel cages and cement cells, dogs left piled on a filthy paint-chipped floor after having chunks of muscle hacked from their thighs; dogs surgically debarked; horribly sick dogs and cats languishing in their cages, neglected and left to suffer with no veterinary care. Joseph (the fur trader)
Joseph is a London based company with over 60 outlets in the UK, France, the USA and Japan and Ireland. Although each Joseph branch only sells a small amount of fur, with so many branches this make them a major contributor to the fur trade. There have been numerous protests over recent years at many of their London outlets. Lloyds TSB
Every year dozens of goats are killed in diving experiments, commissioned by the MoD and conducted by QinetiQ. There are calls for Lloyds TSB to halt their support of cruel and unnecessary testing by boycotting QinetiQ until their animal research is abandoned. Lloyds provide QinetiQ with banking facilities and act as a registrar for their shares. L’Oreal
L’Oréal's quest for expanding markets and bigger profits lead them to develop new ingredients which means they still use animal testing for all new products even though they state that they 'voluntarily stopped animal testing on its entire range of cosmetic products in 1989.' Mauritius Tour Operators
A website containing a list of the main players in the UK Mauritian tourist trade. The island of Mauritius is one of the worlds largest exporters of primates to animal testing labs. Whilst many thousands of tourists holiday on Mauritius, they are unaware that there are 3 monkey farms on the island where many thousands of monkeys await their fate. Procter & Gamble
Procter & Gamble (P&G) are the world’s largest consumer products company, with an annual turnover of over $68 billion. Traditionally known for soaps and detergents, they now produce a massive range of products in hair care, cosmetics, perfumes, personal hygiene, laundry products, snack food, paper and feminine hygiene – and even pet food. P&G admit that guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, rats and mice are among the animals poisoned in their ‘product safety research’, and cats and dogs are used in experiments for their pet foods. Tesco Selling Live Turtles and Frogs!
China’s hunger for turtle meat has sparked an acute extinction crisis. By selling freshwater turtles for food in its Chinese outlets, Tesco is facilitating the demise of these species. Tesco either butchers frogs and turtles in store or sells them alive for customers to slaughter at home. Thomas Cook Travel Agents
The island of Mauritius is one of the worlds largest exporters of primates to animal testing labs. Thomas Cook sell 5% of all holidays on Mauritius. They know full well what goes on at the monkey farms on Mauritius yet refuse point blank to do the ethical thing and remove Mauritius from their brochures. Woodland Trust
The Woodland Trust buys woodlands for conservation and recreation purposes, where in the course of its stated objectives, deliberately kills roe deer and other wildlife. When asked why it does not disclose this to the public, its management says they consider it "unnecessary".
Millions of ducks and geese caged, tortured and killed in the name of 'fine dining'.
